Shopify, perfectionism, and the Prison of Identity

Shopify, perfectionism, and the Prison of Identity

Well, well, well , Here we are. I have renovated my website for your viewing and purchasing pleasure. It took me some time because, truthfully, I have no idea what I'm doing, but please know I am doing my best. I have transitioned from Wix to Shopify, I am a modern woman now, technologically savvy and advanced. I am very excited to be able to provide you with a medium to properly order customized lyric tees through, if all goes according to plan.

I am also very excited about this blog moment I am deciding to have. Very fun, very fresh. It'll be a vessel for announcements and doses of self-expression that need to make their way out of me.

I am taking orders now, and of course, still selling on Depop. Always selling on Depop. I fucking love that app. I love thinking about all the lives my clothing has lived and sending it off to its next one. I'll also be uploading merch I make for fun on there which I think is cool.

It's taken me a while to update this site for many reasons. I suppose I don't have to explain them to you, but vulnerability happens to be a strong suit of mine (If you catch me at the right time). My truth is that I am not entirely secure in my ability to operate a Shopify account and website. I have faith in my ability to figure it out, but not necessarily without trial and error. And trial and error is kind of terrifying.

For some reason, this particular task of creating and managing my website, has been driving me up a wall. I have (relatively) recently taken it upon myself to handle technical matters more independently than ever, and it is intimidating to say the least. Rewarding, but very intimidating. I get caught in the loop of wanting to express and represent myself perfectly, I don't even bother to start or pick up wherever I left off. A vicious cycle.

The publishing of this website marks an important checkpoint for me on my quest of Gilanares. if i sound like i am being dramatic it's because I am , genuinely what were you expecting.

At the same time, I'm not though because it has legitimately been so difficult to make space in my life and mind for this endeavor. BUT HERE WE ARE> Moment of silence .
